A Brief History of the Codpiece

Everyone will have a great time if the codpiece ever gets back into the fashion trend. It would be easier to find out if a man is worth dating by simply looking at his loins. But of course, it would be funny if men were to be seen with metal contraptions wrapped around their private parts.

The codpiece was first made in the 15th century. Before the end of the 16th century, it was no longer fashionable. It is a small metal pouch that is attached to a man's trousers. Inside the metal pouch is the man's private parts. It was usually attached with buttons or strings. It was typically made of metal, and it was the equivalent of a chastity belt. However, it was removable, so chastity was not its primary function.

The first versions of the codpiece were used to protect the man's private parts. And of course, it also emphasizes the man's crotch, making it seem bigger than what it really is. At that time, women decorated their men's codpieces and padded them to make their loin appeared bigger.

The codpiece is now back in fashion, albeit it is not as pronounced as it was before. In fact, you may not have noticed, but many members of metal bands use it. Need examples? Just take a look at KISS, Judas Priest, and Jethro Tull. These guys use a codpiece as a fashion accessory when they perform.

If you are observant enough, you will also notice that the codpiece is used in movies. An example of this was George Clooney when he starred as Batman.

The truth is, if this ever comes back into mainstream fashion, then there is never going to be any need for dating websites and dating services any more. The only thing that a woman has to do is to look at a man's crotch and measure him up by simply staring. Matchmakers will definitely lose their jobs.

And of course, both men and women can share the moments to decorate it and make it appealing to both.
