A Funny and Unusual Theory Called Ladder Theory

What is a Ladder theory?

In the year 1994 at a place called Exeter in California, this theory came into existence. Dallas Lynn was the architect behind it. Another person accompanied him to build this theory. His name is Jared Whitson. The ladder theory is not a scientifically proven and documented theory. By keeping this in mind, we need to address the ladder theory. This theory says that the people, who meet each other, start to judge them depending on their attraction level. So overall, the theory is completely based on this attraction theory. Sometimes this theory is funny and unusual on its own.

Why is it unusual or funny?

The theory's definition itself shows that it is unusual. You cannot just judge everyone based on physical attraction and sexual attraction. The process of selection itself is funny. If you go into detail, the process becomes more unusual. Because of its random prediction without the actual analysis, study, data, and prediction, this theory has become a social ideology theory. This makes this theory unscientific. It gives few predictions in it. The prediction varies from one sex to the other. It does not explain things based on the character of that person. If you consider all of these points, this theory of ladder is unusual and funny at many levels.

Explanation of ladder theory

There is a very simple explanation for it. As soon as people meet with their opposite sex, they will create predictable mental ratings. The people jump to this theory with or without thinking. This theory says that the attraction level of women is more than 60 percent. Men judge them based on sexual attraction. Then 30 percent deals with her commitment and 10 percent includes other factors. Now, when you consider women, the pattern changes. They deal with factors like the power, money, caring nature and the look of a man. According to this, 40 percent of the mindset depends on the appearance of the men. Then 50 percent of the mindset covers the money and the power. The remaining 10 percent of the mindset depends upon the caring nature of the person. Overall, the theory is painting everything with single paint strokes.

The Lemma's of the theory

It also includes three Lemmas (or mathematical proofs) in it. All three Lemma's deal with the attraction only. The first Lemma is Lemma 1. Lemma 1 says that the as soon as the two people meet with each other, they rate the opposite sex person based on the sexual preference level. After this person is on the ladder already, then the Lemma 2 deals with how men will rate women only on her attraction and the way she put it out. The women judge men on the ladder with the power, money, and care. The Lemma 3 is the ladder itself. The men will judge women with just one criterion i.e. attraction. The women use two criteria on the ladder.

The controversy around ladder theory

Every theory in this world deals with specific topics, which sometimes unusual in its own nature. However, the way it provides the scientific proof will make it an acceptable theory or objectionable theory. As this theory has a lot of prediction without the actual proof. Because of this, the theory is subjected to the different types of criticism from all around the world. Many books were published on this theory. Some of them against the theory. Overall, this theory is a part of social ideology and experiment. Out an out, it is an unusual theory for sure. The rating system includes things like loyalty, soberness, desperation, and other hidden variables like insanity.

Misconception on this theory

As we have already explained, the theory for women includes two different aspects of the ladder design. To climb the ladder they need to satisfy these two criteria. However, few people think and explain that the women have two different ladder theories. They even say that instead of using two different ladders for the women, it is better to use just one big ladder to explain it all. The theory has some of the other misconceptions. They are as follows:
