About Me:
Born & raised in Virginia Beach, VA, after 3 years in the Army, I became a city girl, moving to Brooklyn NY & working in NYC my entire adult, working life. I was a Dental Hygienist, obtained a MS in Health Care Adm, attended St. John’s Univ Law School, & practiced Wills, Trusts & Estate Law for 25 yrs. I loved my work, serving the working poor & the municipal employees of NYC.
I’m trained to be a “pet” dog trainer. Though I never worked in that capacity, I used the skills with my own dogs. Finally, I’m a trained Stephen Minister & Stephen Leader & I used that training to start up a ministry in a small church in Long Neck, DE.
I’m a feminine woman. I’m capable of doing some heavy lifting, but prefer carrying a lighter load. In my younger years, I boasted that I could bake a pie & use a Black & Decker in the same day. That was years ago.
I came to Sussex County with my wife in 2014, after vacationing here for over 10 years. I quickly joined the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, & began a search for a church where I’d be comfortable.
I enjoy music of the 60s & 70s. But I also enjoy the music of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, & Irving Berlin. I enjoy jazz & even some New Age Music. Hard rock, Rap, etc. don’t quite do it for me. I was born in a musical family. My parents were singers for the USO during the end of WWII & Korean War, & were frequent singers for radio shows. In high school I sang contemporary music, and Madrigals (16th & 17th Century contemporary music), as well as playing the clarinet & oboe.
I’m happiest when I’m singing in the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus, reading a good book, surrounded by my dogs, learning something new, cuddling with someone dear, enjoying a well prepared meal, laughing uncontrollably at anecdotal silliness, teaching when I see a student “gets” a concept, looking out over the ocean, or just being on a boat in the ocean. You can also find me enjoying a good crime drama, or a nature or human based documentary.
I am religious, but I’m very private about it. I enjoy learning about the messages in scripture, how they’re interpreted, & how they relate to our contemporary lives. I founded a ministry in my church that provides care to those in crisis: those in grief, the dying, those living through divorce, job loss, childbirth hardships, those caring for someone who is chronically ill or dying, etc..
Meeting new people, learning about their lives & their joys gives me great pleasure. There is always room for new people in my life.

I appear a bit shy, standoff-ish, or maybe even “intense”, until I get to know a person. The lawyer & teacher in me often prevail. But when I feel safe enough to let my hair down, I The the way silly, affectionate character that I really am deep down inside.

I haven’t travel a great deal, but I look forward to expanding my travels, & seeing those places on my bucket list tt.
I just took up golf last year. I loved it!!then had surgery… so, uuuuwuuith my last partner for 34 years, married the last 12 of those years.
I’m notu a drinker, & I don’t smoke ANYTHING, so meeting women in watering holes or even in the WORB meetups is not ideal for me. I’m hoping this site will open some new avenues.

My Ideal Match:
I’m most attracted to strong, capable women who appear more like Jill than Jack. The ability to carry on a deep discussion, to easily laugh… even at oneself, and to have the strength of one’s convictions, all while being able to “agree to disagree” are important traits. A good sense of humor is critical. I’m looking for a woman who is also kind, empathetic, & compassionate. That, & honest communication, will smooth out any rough patches
