About Me:
I am independent and don't have a problem traveling alone but would prefer to share. I had a two-month road trip when I moved here from San Diego. Mostly visiting friends but I have to say the drive from Ouray to Durango was one of the most stunning drives I have ever done. Rivals Highway 1.
I spent over thirty years as a flight attendant for a major airline. And yes, I do get free travel, but the conditions now might be the only reason why I could get on a flight - last trip? Paris. I prefer smaller places less travelled. I can't believe what has happened with all the boomers taking over. As a child I lived in Portugal for two years aback in the early 1960's.
I would consider myself well-travelled - never on a tour though (except once - 1989 trip to Soviet Union and just happened to be in Leningrad when the wall went down which was truly memorable). Back in the day, I wrote travel articles above the fold Sunday section of newspapers. That was when an SASE was needed - Ha - ancient history.
After I retired from flying - lasted only four years after 9/11 - I have a story that is very unique but will wait to tell - I started an environmental company that put me in the forefront. lots of speaking engagements and up for businesswoman of the year in San Diego and the Southwest. But 2008 was a killer. More on that later.
My townhouse is perfect right now - small but just the way I like it.
And yes, my red hair is enhanced. I just can't seem to let it go. If you have noticed - redheads tend not to give up that signature.
In the summer I work at the Opera in Santa Fe and truly learned to love it. My first opera was at 18 at La Scala in Milan - Aida. I fell asleep and somebody woke me up when the elephants walked across the stage - real elephants back then.
One of my great pleasures for the last fifty years has been cooking. I love entertaining.
I do love being alone with all my projects, so boredom is really not in my vocabulary.
If any of this might pique your interest, let's talk!
My Ideal Match:
Do you travel? Have you been out of the United States? Well-travelled people are most interesting to me. I don't think of myself as a senior citizen but take full advantage when it's offered - U?
Do you think of the other person? Do you have stories to tell? Tell me and let's share
