laughter is the best medicine. In psychology that would mean that, most if not all ( at least to some degree) of you who laugh or provide laughter are those who've lived through unimaginable pain, and as a result, give people something to brighten the darkness. To keep them from falling, like Alice, down the seemingly endless rabbit hole like you did; So that the one's who suffer after you won't have to know or feel the torturous hell you barely managed to escape from, that invisible sky you somehow shoulder every day, the hopelessness that corroded your once whole heart that you still pretend is fine. And yet you never explain to the people whose lives you light up. Some laugh heartily, some chuckle a little bit, crack a smile maybe.
Yet in the moment, while all this is happening in you.... Everyone else sees the kindness. But most are oblivious of the the shield of combat-worn iron that defends others soundlessly, and the warm glow of the the fire that fuels hope and instills gratitude... the damned super hero you are
