I had asked him a simple question after a compliment and I received a one word answer. Since even after that he has not only viewed my story on Facebook couple times but liked the photo on the story and on the page. I know that is not a big deal but since he only replied to my msg with one word I thought he would have unfriended me.

Completely depends on the persons personality. If they are verbally assertive or if they keep to themselves. -

I havent heard the word whom in a longg time lol! love it.
Possibly wrong place wrong time, he might be married or have someone, or just plain shy.
Its really simple, if your not sure BE DIRECT.
"So yeah, if your not doing anything after lunch wanna hang out?"
Honest, straightforward to the point and he knows you have interest in him, if he says no.. you have your answer.
If he makes excuses and says "next time ok?" thats a maybe.. possibly you caught him off guard.
Simple!
What throws me are the tee hee's, giggles and all the other flirting.🤔
Mixed signals only cause trouble and confusion often it causes problems with self worth.
It doesnt end up well. thats why alot of people just "wanna get high or drunk" and throw common sense to the wind..(And they wonder why he/she dont call the next day too!)
I've started dates with the question after 30 minutes in "what are the odds of us having sex tonight?" (Just to see the response, and of course the obvious.)
Its a good question, it shows where you stand, if she says "slim to none," your wasting your time.. and that was a very negative comment, never be negative on a date it kills the date instantly. Shes more than likely there because lack of better things to do ( or you really dont wanna know the reason.)
She could say something in the middle like "maybe" and smile, even if the answer is no, keep the date going and maybe have a good time!
Thats the issue I have with dating, games, Indecisiveness.. and immaturity, at 50!
