During registration, what should be added as a gender choice?
During contact with several people, I found myself asking the wrong question.
"ARE YOU A WOMAN"?
Their reply, "Yes"
After further contact, I found out those persons were "T-Girls"
There should be a way for a "STRAIGHT EDGE" (not gay) male like myself to identify a naturally born woman without having to ask.
It is frustrating to me and most likely "INSULTING" to straight edge (not gay) women to even be asked that kind of question during a conversation.

You and I agree, there are only 2 genders, normally.
Normally people are born with two nipples but in rare cases some are born with three nipples
Not all people are born with one gender, some are born with both.
The same question "could" apply to conjoined twins, am I singles dating or couples dating?

It’s all well and good as long as people are completely honest when signing up on these things. But people lie on the internet so much now so you never know the true person until you meet them in real life.
Years ago I used a UK dating site and got to know a man over a period of about 6 months; emails and phone calls etc. He seemed nice and we had a lot in common so I arranged a train ticket to go and visit him… A couple of days before I go, he messaged me and dropped the bombshell that he had what he called an ‘other me’ and that he was a cross dresser and our first date would consist of him wearing women’s clothes and taking us shopping!! Imagine a romantic first date with a 6 foot 2 inch man in a dress or whatever; wanting to try on perfumes and strutting around like a drag queen… What a nutcase he was, stringing me along and announcing it like it was something innocent. I ended it straight away.
There are so many so-called gender types now that it’s like they make it up as they go along. I applied for a job a while ago and couldn’t find ‘female’ on the long list!! I had to Google the word ‘cisgender’ which means I identify with the gender I was born with and am quite happy being a normal woman. It used to be a simple case of ticking ‘male’ or ’female’ instead of all the nonsense we get now!

What everyone is trying to normalize is something called Gender Dysphoria: a defined mental illness along the lines that homosexuality was back in the early 70s...and before some people get their panties in a bunch, it is listed in the DSM-5 still today, even with all the attempts to make this deviant behavior acceptable.
[Gender dysphoria is the mental distress a person experiences due to a mismatch between their gender identity—their personal sense of their own gender—and their sex assigned at birth. The term replaced the previous diagnostic label of gender identity disorder in 2013 with the release of the diagnostic manual DSM-5.]
[deviant /dē′vē-ənt/ - Differing from a norm or from the accepted standards of a society.]
People that are like this are mentally ill. Supporting their illness, instead of helping them fix it, is nothing more than cruelty and nepotism. -

Intersex relates to biological sex traits at birth.
Transgender relates to gender identity, which might lead to changes in appearance or legal recognition to match that identity. -

INTERSEX, refers to individuals who are born with physical sex characteristics (such as chromosomes, gonads, or genitals) that do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies. Intersex is a biological variation, and it's about the physical body one is born with.
TRANSGENDER, refers to individuals whose gender identity does not align with the sex they were assigned at birth. This is about gender identity, which is how one internally perceives themselves, rather than the physical traits they are born with. Transgender people might or might not choose to medically transition to align their physical appearance with their gender identity.

When we relaunch with the 2.0 version of LetsHangOut, there will be new choices to the gender/seeking fields and changes to the way the matching system works. We have this already developed.
In addition to male and female, users will also be able to choose Transwoman, Transman and Nonbinary/Other/Pansexual. Over time, we've noticed a surprisingly large number of trans users.
One of the challenges we've faced with the current system, is that transwomen identifying as "female" seeking "men", will show up on matches for all straight guys. If transwomen identify as "male", their gender at birth, then they show up to gay men only, if they set the seeking field to "male" as well. We don't have a good setup for bi users. We've received complaints about this from both straight guys/gals and trans users.
The 2.0 "seeking" field will allow users to select multiple values for their matches instead of just one. For example, men can choose to include "straight women" along with "bi women", as well as "transwomen" and get matches including all 3 groups. A straight guy leave "transwomen" unchecked if they don't want trans users showing up in their matches. If a guy unchecks transwomen, that same guy won't show up on a transwoman's matches either. Bi users can choose to seek men and women at the same time, and their matches will pull up only guys/gals looking for bi users. The new changes will be a win for everyone.
In addition: We've also noticed quite a bit of "Couples" type profiles on the site. We will be including "couples" (MM, FF, or MF), along with "groups" (F, M or Mixed Genders). These will be included in the "seeking" field as well. Swingers can search for other couples. Couples can search for their unicorn guy/gal (straight, and/or gay, and/or trans, etc) and vice versa. Groups can search for other groups, couples, singles, all of the above, etc. The group setup can work great for setting up group events at parties, date nights, clubs, concerts, etc.
There will be FAR more flexibility and organization than the current setup.

Thank you for the heads-up.
I'm sure many are looking forward to LHO 2.0 and the additional gender options, starting with me.

Unfortunately, we don't have a ballpark figure of when the 2.0 version will launch. We had originally hoped for late 2024, but there was an unprecedented amount of unexpected setbacks and delays. Now that the holidays are over and a major part of the fake accounts/scams are a bit more under control, we should have a few good solid months of development. We still have to polish up the new matching/search system and new messenger, reorganize/rebuild the activities and users menus and a bunch of the other pages, rebuild and elevate the forum, build the new social core and finally tie everything together. If we're really lucky, maybe we'll relaunch late spring or early summer, maybe even sooner depending on how smoothly things go. -
